Fotograf Emma IngolfJoakim Larsson was admitted to The Royal Danish Academy of Music at the age of 18, and went on to recieve both a Bachelors – and Masters degree from the same institution. During his studies Larsson took part of an exchange program with The Manhattan School of Music where he studied with prof. Maitland Peters.

In May 2018 Joakim graduated from The Royal Opera Academy in Copenhagen where he studied with prof. Kirsten Buhl Møller.
Currently, Joakim is a student of Neil Semer and a part of the Young Emerging Artist Program at Folkoperan in Stockholm.
 

In the summer of 2017 Joakim debuted in Smålandsoperans production of The Marriage of Figaro (Mozart) in the role of Count Almaviva. In the following fall he made his debut at the Royal Danish Opera in the role of Larkens in La fanciulla del West (Puccini). He has also performed such roles as Dancaïro in Carmen (Bizet), Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart), Collatinus in The rape of Lucretia (Britten) amongst others.

Outside of the opera stage Joakim has performed as a soloist in works such as: Messiah (Händel), Förklädd Gud (Larsson), Prisme (Nørgård).
